The House on Mango Street..

The House on Mango Street by Sandra Cisneros was a very hard story for me to read. It confused me because there wasn't a story line. The story is told in vignettes, which are just snapshots of events. It wasn't a very easy story to follow.

The story is about a young girl named Esperanza living in the poor Latino part of Chicago. It tells of her many struggles, from her hair, to her family, to her developing responsibilities.

I have a hard time focusing when reading. This is why I don't like this book. It was so unconnected that I couldn't focus on what the story was really about. This book might be good for someone looking for a quick, easy read, but other than that, I do not recommend this book.
